Hi! I’m Rachel
I’m a UK-based traveller, born and raised in Durham, now living and working in Newcastle. Along the way, I’ve also called Leeds and London home, but my biggest passion is exploring the world.
My love for solo travel began in 2019 when I volunteered in Tanzania, working on a Girls’ Empowerment Project in Moshi. Supporting young girls who had missed out on education due to early marriage and pregnancy was life-changing. Combining social care with travel, immersing myself in new cultures, and meeting incredible people quickly became an addiction!
Since then, I’ve traveled solo to Zanzibar, India (Delhi, Agra, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, Goa), and Thailand. I’ve also had amazing experiences traveling with family and friends across Egypt, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, California, Greece, Germany, and France.
I’m new to blogging, so I’m learning as I go—but I’m excited to share itineraries, budget tips, and accommodation recommendations from a solo female, male, and couple’s perspective to help you plan your own adventures. Let’s explore the world together!

Ryan…

I met Ryan over a year ago, brought together by our mutual love for travel. While we both share a passion for exploring new places, our experiences have been completely different—especially when it comes to solo travel, hostels, and the destinations we’ve visited. But that’s what makes our adventures even more exciting!
Since meeting, we’ve had some incredible travel experiences together, exploring Croatia (Zadar, Šibenik, Split, Bol, Hvar, and Dubrovnik), soaking up the sun in Paphos, and discovering more of the Greek Islands, including Ios and Santorini. Each trip has been filled with amazing memories, from wandering through historic old towns to chasing the best sunset views and, of course, indulging in delicious local food.
This year, we’re setting our sights on Thailand and Bali, ready to experience new adventures, dive into Thai street food, and explore places that are completely new to us. Whether it’s beach hopping, jungle trekking, or finding hidden gems, we can’t wait to share our journey with you! 🌍✈️
Our TentBox Experience

A year ago, we made the decision to buy the TentBox Lite 2.0, and I’ll be honest—I wasn’t on board at first. I said it was ‘too expensive, a waste of money, and a way to get me camping’. But now? I HATE to say it, but I was completely wrong. It’s hands down the best thing we’ve ever bought, and our only regret is not getting one sooner.
I’ve never been much of a camper—my friends are still shocked that I love our TentBox as much as I do! I’m always freezing, and I love a good bathroom. But the freedom it gives us to go anywhere, anytime is truly unbeatable. With an extra mattress and duvet, I’ve never been cold, and for winter camping, you can even buy TentBox insulators to stay extra cozy.
That’s why, in many ways, I don’t even think of it as camping. I love the budget-friendly aspect of it—meeting other travellers walking or in local pubs, knowing they’ve paid five times the amount we have for accommodation. In my blog, I’ve shared some must-have items we’ve purchased to make our TentBox experience even better
Where We Stay & How We Plan Our Trips
We usually stay at campsites, which are affordable and convenient, or car parks with toilet facilities. The TentBox community is growing fast, and there’s now a Facebook group where members share travel tips, adventures across the UK and Europe, and even organize meetups.
We also use Park4Night, an app that shows car parks with pricing, camping allowances, and reviews from fellow TentBox users. It’s a game-changer for finding hidden gems to park up for the night!
Expanding Our Adventures: Kayaking & Future Plans
Recently, we bought a kayak, and although we’ve only used it a few times, we’re so excited to take it out more this summer! Living in Newcastle (North East England), we’re lucky to be close to some of the UK’s most scenic outdoor spots, like the Lake District, Northumberland, and even Scotland.
Some of our favourite places to visit are Windermere, Ullswater, and Beadnell, where we’ve had amazing trips and have loved getting out on the water. Our next dream adventure? Tackling the NC500, Scotland’s iconic road trip, and we know our TentBox will be perfect for the journey!
If you’re considering getting a TentBox, I can confidently say—it’s worth every penny. The adventures, the savings, and the freedom to explore make it one of the best investments we’ve ever made. Just wait and hear about our further adventures as we continue…
What’s The End Goal?
As I continue my blogging journey, my goal is to gain more experience, learn from seasoned travel bloggers, and ultimately grow my audience. By improving my content and reaching more travelers, I hope to increase traffic to my blog and expand into publishing more detailed travel guides and resources.
Beyond blogging, my passion for travel is what drives me. There are so many destinations I’ve dreamed of visiting since I was young—Peru, Brazil, and Italy are at the top of my list. I want to continue exploring the world, experiencing different cultures, and sharing authentic, helpful travel insights with my readers.
In the future, I also hope to sell my own itineraries, something I truly love creating. Whether it’s for friends, family, or fellow travelers, I enjoy planning structured, budget-friendly trips that make the most of every destination. These itineraries have helped me stay organized and on track during my own travels, and I’d love to offer them to others looking for stress-free, well-planned adventures.
For now, I’m focusing on growing, learning, and exploring, but I’m excited for what the future holds—both for my travels and for this blog!
